Saving the Tatas & Fighting the C word

Breast Cancer Awareness

Even though the leaves falling, the fall scented candles are lit, and we are decorating like mad for the season, we need to not forget it is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Even if you do not know someone who has or has had breast cancer, the big C in general touches the lives of each and everyone of us in some way. Cancer has effected my family twice in the past few years, one beating it and the other not, which I have written about before. Cancer sucks in every possible way. It is heart wrenching to hear the word in connection with anyone you know, let alone love.

In case you were unaware....

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women.
An estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer each year
Mammograms and self examinations are key to early detention of the disease.

It is ridiculous how common cancer is becoming. Needless to say something needs to be done. We all need to become "boobie fighters" and fight against the big C. Why should anyones life or family feel this heart break?

So for the month of October, I am hosting an online fundraiser to fight against the horrible disease and to bring awareness to early detection.

From today until October 31st you can help to save the boobies!

Once you make a donation here, tweet me @trailofsprinkle using the hashtag #BoobieFighter!  On November 1st, will pick one boobie fighter that will receive a $25 gift certificate at Victoria Secret!

Other ways to support breast cancer awareness month:
Wearing pink
Supporting a pink ribbon
Encouraging a family member or friend to get a mammogram
Making time to do a self examination
